Where to Go Snowmobiling in the White Mountains
Mt Washington Snowmobile Rentals
Mt Washington Snowmobile Rentals offers both rentals and guided tours. If you aren’t familiar with the area, we recommend taking a tour. They offer one-hour, two-hour, three-hour, or half-day (four hours) tours. The Cog Railway Half-Day Tour includes a cog train ride halfway up Mount Washington. It’s perfect for first-time visitors looking for a unique experience. The Mount Washington Half-Day Tour shows you a lot of the area and is better suited for more experienced riders. The Three-Hour Presidential Traverse Tour takes you over Jefferson Notch and the infamous Presidential Range. It’s available for all abilities and anyone at least 10-year-olds. All tours include a snowmobile, a helmet, fuel, and a guide.
Snowmobile rentals start at $105 for a single snowmobile and go up from there depending on the day of the week, the amount of time you’d like, and the type of snowmobile. You’ll also have to pay a collision damage waiver. Each rental includes a snowmobile, a helmet, and a map. Mt Washington Snowmobile Rentals is located at the base of Mount Washington at the Bretton Woods Station.
Northern Extremes Snowmobile Rentals
Northern Extremes Snowmobile Rentals owns Mt Washington Snowmobile Rentals, but this location is in Bartlett. They offer one-hour, two-hour, and three-hours guided tours. The two-Hour Scenic Bear Notch Tour is perfect for people and families new to snowmobiling in the White Mountains. If you’re a more experienced rider, we recommend the Three-Hour Gilligan’s Tour. It takes you over Bear Notch Road to Sawyer River Road stopping along the Swift River. It covers most of the White Mountain Trail Club trail system, known for its spectacular trial conditions. Because it is the same company, Bartlett’s rental system works the same way. They are located on Main Street across the street from the elementary school.
